On Rosh Hashanah we are invited to engage in self-examination. The blast of the shofar acts as a spiritual alarm clock, and the ritual of tashlich invites us to symbolically put things behind us by casting crumbs into the river. This year, join Harlem's Jewish community for a full shofar service and communal Tashlich ritual along the river.
We will meet at the pier and sound the shofar. We’ll then take a few moments for group and personal reflection and cast bread crumbs into the Hudson. For adults, kids, and families of all configurations!
BYO bread crumbs (we'll have a limited amount). For those who like, we will provide booklets with the traditional liturgy for the Tashlich ritual.
