You may be wondering: "How can I ever feel truly ready to take stock of my year? To stand in front of my community and the Holy One on the Day of Judgment?" You're not alone. One of our favorite books about this season is called, aptly, This Is Real, and You Are Completely Unprepared.
Truer words...
Here's the thing: the High Holidays actually start before the High Holidays arrive. This entire month is a time to ready ourselves spiritually. Sometimes this looks like personal contemplation (we're doing lots of this), and sometimes this looks like taking accountability for our actions and seeking to repair our relationships with others (we're doing lots of this, too).
This newsletter includes many ways to get yourself geared up: a 3-part preparation class with Erica, as well as Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services and meals.
We hope we can find some way to spend these awe-some days with you this year.
