So Much to Celebrate!
Three Harlem weddings in nine days! On simchas, spiritual encouragement, and the joy we create together. Plus, what's worth celebrating in YOUR life?

This past weekend, our community celebrated the weddings of two beloved couples: Arielle and Jonny, and Danna and Ferni. And this coming Sunday, Dimitry will have the honor of officiating the wedding of Shai and Joseph. Three community weddings in nine days!
There is really nothing quite like a simcha in our community. And especially in these times, when so much in the world feels heavy, we need reasons to experience joy. Not just to feel it privately, but to enact it together. To dance, to sing, to lift one another up, to give ourselves over to a little revelry.
In Jewish tradition, we have a word for the spiritual encouragement that carries us through difficult moments: chizuk. And sometimes, chizuk comes through words of Torah, or a meaningful conversation, or a quiet moment of connection. But sometimes, it comes through dancing in a circle with people we love, celebrating something wonderful that has happened in someone else's life.
And of course, weddings are only one kind of simcha. There are so many occasions worth celebrating: new beginnings, new friendships, babies and birthdays, personal accomplishments, moments of healing, brave decisions, and the small and enormous victories that make up our lives. We want to be a community that notices these moments, honors them, and makes room for one another's joy.
Each of these couples has, in their own way, left a significant mark on our Harlem Jewish community, and we hope you'll stay tuned for opportunities to shower them with love and blessings in the weeks ahead.
And we'd love to hear from you, too. What's worth celebrating in your life these days? Big or small, public or personal, we would love to know. Let us be a community that celebrates one another generously, because joy grows when it is shared.
