Introducing: Hanukkah Across Harlem!
Over eight nights (December 14–21), we’ll be bringing light, joy, and Jewish pride to our neighborhood — with candle-lighting celebrations in homes, lobbies, cafés, and public spaces all across Harlem.
We’re thrilled to share the news:
Over eight nights (December 14–21), we’ll be bringing light, joy, and Jewish pride to our neighborhood — with candle-lighting celebrations in homes, lobbies, cafés, and public spaces all across Harlem. Together, we’ll create a visible, vibrant network of gatherings that showcase the beauty of Jewish life here — one menorah, one melody, one neighborly smile at a time.
The heart of this initiative is you.
We’re looking for Hosts — Harlem residents who want to open their homes, buildings, or favorite local spots to friends and neighbors for one night of Hanukkah joy. Hosts will receive supplies, support, microgrants, and inspiration at a special Host Rally in early December. No experience necessary — just a love of community and a spark to share the light.
Inspired to gather your people this Hanukkah in your own space? Sign up to be a Hanukkah Host.
P.S. — Save the date for our BIG community-wide Hanukkah celebration at Montefiore Square on Tuesday, December 16th, in partnership with the Montefiore Park Association — a joyful, musical, public lighting for all ages.
This initiative is made possible through the generous support of UJA-Federation of New York.
