Circles are forming...

Even if youre mostly encountering our community on Friday nights, we wanted you to know: there is a quiet flowering happening all around you.

Our living room was full of Hebrew this week.

Some people carefully revisited the aleph-bet, decoding words letter by letter. A few fluent speakers jumped in to help others along. And in one corner, a small group read Oh, the Places You’ll Go — in Hebrew — with laughter and a lot of collective courage. It was our first-ever Hebrew Salon (shoutout to our instigator and co-organizer Cassie Gross), and it was exactly what we hoped it would be: a room full of people meeting the language wherever they are, and helping one another take the next step. We’re already looking forward to gathering again soon.

Meanwhile, the rhythm of our other circles continues to unfold. On Monday night we gathered our weekly Harlem Service Corps cohort around our table, reflecting on the many layers of identity we each carry and how we show up in the world — and with one another — in friendship. And this Sunday, our Women’s Learning Circle (shoutout to leader Chelsea Garbell) will meet again as well, continuing a season of lively conversation and shared discovery.

One of the sweetest things about this spring has been watching these smaller cohorts take root. Alongside the steady drumbeat of Shabbat, new circles form — people gathering around shared interests, questions, and curiosities. Some come to practice Hebrew. Some to learn Torah. Some to wrestle with big questions about identity and purpose. Each circle is its own little constellation of connection and exploration.

Even if you’re mostly encountering our community on Friday nights, we wanted you to know: there is a quiet flowering happening all around you. People are opening their books and their hearts to one another. New friendships are forming. New conversations are beginning. And in the weeks ahead, we’re excited to launch even more circles that invite people to gather, learn, and grow together.
